Book Interiors
A reader’s impression of a book is determined by both content and appearance. Your carefully written manuscript will be enhanced by beautiful typography, styling, spacing, and typesetting. You’ve spent a lot of time and energy writing your book, don’t let it go to print looking unprofessional. We will take your MS Word manuscript and turn it into a professionally designed book interior. We return a pdf file prepared to your chosen printer’s specifications.
Send us your Word files, instructions, illustrations, or photos as well as book size, paper color, illustrations, and more. During our discussions, we will explore any special wishes you may have. We will review everything and send you a quote. The cost for the design of your book interior is based on the number of pages and illustrations and the book’s complexity. For example, a typical fiction book, with minimal illustrations, is approximately $1.95 a page with a minimum cost is $350 for the interior. There will be additional charges if there are multiple and/or complex edits after we send you the PDF. We ask that you pay half of the initial quote upfront and the second half plus any additional charges upon completion.
Covers
Your cover is your reader’s first impression and is a powerful element of your book — make sure it is captivating and reflects the spirit of your content.
If you have a cover image, great! But we can create the imagery as well.
We will need back cover information: your headshot, short bio, short book description, testimonials, etc. We will need the ISBN barcode or can get one for you. The cost of the cover typically starts at $275, but If your design requires multiple concepts, complex artwork, or a custom illustration, then this will be charged in addition.
Payment for the interior and/or cover of the book is due half up front and the second half when all changes/edits have been made, and you are happy with your final copy.
We will give you a turnaround time when we get you the quote; however, be sure to allow yourself time to review your files and request changes. If your deadline is tight, we can offer an express service subject to availability.
Children’s Picture Books
These beautiful books require special design conception and consideration to make sure the time you have taken to write and illustrate the book is given the design it deserves and has the appeal to your young audience. Therefore, the cost per page does not apply. Typically, the book design, including the cover is approximately $600 unless it is unusually long or the illustrations require extra work.
